Bernat received his BA in Literature and Philosophy, but soon started to combine these interests with editing. He got his Masters Degree in Film Editing from the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles. Bernat is also interested in restoration, digital effects and more, including serving as the Associate Editor on the IMAX feature, “Mystery of the Nile.” He was the editor and postproduction supervisor for “Magic Journey to Africa.” This article was composed with assistance from IT Manager Xavi Tribo and Technical Director José Maria Aragonès.

Magic Journey to Africa

Barcelona's Apuntolapospo draws on 18 years of experience to create live-action 3D. There have obviously been stereoscopic films for many years, since the 50s, and even earlier. In this new age of digital filmmaking, though, "Magic Journey to Africa" is the first live-action stereoscopic 3D feature to be produced in Europe, for both digital cinema and IMAX.
